Car/Land Operating Panel

An interface in an elevator used to select the floor to which passengers wish to travel, consisting of a car button for each landing served by the elevator, an emergency stop switch, an alarm button, door-open and door-close buttons, and a number of key switches used by building management, maintenance, and emergency personnel.

That portion of a floor, balcony, or platform adjacent to an elevator hoistway which is used to receive and discharge passengers or freight.
